The hidden inbox
Did you know that people who aren’t your friends can also go ahead and message you on Facebook Messenger? These message notifications aren’t like the regular messages that you receive. In order to view them Open the Messenger tab on top (besides the notification) =>Message Requests.
See your active sessions
If you’re someone who uses Facebook on multiple devices, this tool could come in really handy. Go to Settings=> Security and Login and see the sessions and devices that you are logged in on. If you see something an unusual login activity, you can log out straight from there.
Transfer files over Facebook Messenger
Did you know you could share files on Facebook Messenger? Just drag and drop files in the conversation you intend to share files on and you’re pretty much good to go.
Pirate lingo on Facebook
If you’re bored in the way Facebook reads, you could change the language of the menus and options in the English the way Pirates speak. So you’ll see a lot more of Aye and Nay! Go to Settings=>Language=> English (Pirate).
Save posts for later
Found an interesting post on the news feed, but cannot read it at the moment? You can choose to save the post for reading it later by tapping the three dots on the top right corner of the post and tapping the save post option. In order to see your saved posts, click on the ‘Saved’ option to the left of the Facebook page.

Download your Facebook history
If you’ve decided to delete your Facebook profile forever, it’s a great to have a backup of all the posts and conversations that you shared online. Just go to Settings=> General=> click on the link “Download a copy of your Facebook data”. Later it’ll show you a set of instructions and you’re pretty much good to go!
Set a legacy contact
Death is inevitable and unpredictable. However, what would happen to your Facebook profile after you die? You can add a legacy contact who can take over your account after your death. For adding a legacy contact, go to Settings > General > Manage Account > Legacy Contact tab and choose one of your Facebook friends.
Your assigned legacy contact can write a pinned post for your profile, accept or reject anew friend requests and update profile and cover photo. Moreover, your legacy contacts won’t have access to all your messages unless you give them access to.
Personalise your News Feed
Annoyed with unnecessary posts on your News Feed? You can curate the News Feed to your liking. On the browser, simply hit the three dots beside the News Feed tab to the left=> Edit Preferences and personalise your news feed.
See your friendship with a specific friend
Want to see how many pics and posts you and your bestie have together? Just go to his profile=> Press the three dotted tap on the right=> Tap on See Friendship. It’ll show you all the posts and images you’ve tagged each other. It’s a really cool way to go down the memory lane.
Play games on Facebook
Facebook’s Messenger also includes an interesting multiplayer gaming platform. On the browser, just ver the messenger contacts to the left you’ll be able to see a tab called ‘Your Games’. Click on the ‘More’ tab. Once you’re in the Games section, you can choose to play and compete with your friends online with the wide library of games at your disposal. It also shows your ranking on a specific game among your friends.
Get Harry Potter-like profile picture
We all loved to see live photos from the Harry Potter movies, and while it is nowhere close to reality, you could get a similar image as your Facebook Profile picture. From your Facebook smartphone app, enter your profile=> Select your profile picture=> Take a new profile video. This will help you create a moving image that will play when someone visits your profile!
Unfollow annoying friends whom you cannot unfriend
Let’s accept this- Not all friends on our Facebook friend lists are our friends, and at times they can get quite annoying by sharing all kinds of crap that would end up cluttering on your feed. And no matter how annoying they get, you really don’t want to unfriend them as that’s too impolite and rude. Instead, you could just unfollow them. Enter their profile and just at the bottom of the cover, you can see a ‘Following’ tab. Click on that and select the unfollow option to not get their activities on your News Feed unless they actually tag you in it.
Turn off notification for tagged posts
Got tagged by a friend on a certain post and now you’re getting pinged about every like and comment on that image? You can stop those notifications simply by going on that post=> Tap the three dots on the top right=> Tap on ‘Turn off notification for this post’, and those annoying notifications can take a break.
